The Pilarín Bayés Library in Barcelona, the Municipal Gym of Corral de Calatrava in Ciudad Real, and the BCC-Grupo Cajamar Financial Center in Almería were honored at the fifteenth edition of the Veteco Awards, hosted by the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Light Facades and Windows (ASEFAVE). The awards ceremony took place during the penultimate day of Veteco, the international exhibition focused on windows, facades, and sun protection, held at Ifema, Madrid.

The Pilarín Bayés Library was awarded the prize for the best light façade, acknowledging the work of the architects from BCQ Arquitectura Barcelona, SLP, along with Grupo Gámiz-Egoin Wood Group and Jansen Iberia. The jury appreciated the design and aesthetic integration into its surroundings, as well as the technical quality and innovation of the presented solutions.

In the same category, honorable mentions were given to the Arrupe Campus and the Reform of Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The former is a project by Bueso-Inchausti & Rein Architects, in collaboration with Ferga, S.A., Cortizo, and Panoramah; and the latter is by architect Arup and industrial partners Grupo Aluman and INASUS.

The Municipal Gymnasium of Corral de Calatrava received the award for the best window, a recognition shared with architect Luis Carlos Peña Juan and manufacturer Alugom. The project “SFJ6. 102 social housing units in Madrid,” led by architect Marina del Mármol and manufacturers TECHNAL and Aludeco Metálicas, also received an honorable mention.

In the category for best sun protection, the award went to the BCC-Grupo Cajamar Financial Center, overseen by architects Ayala, S.L.P. and INASUS.

ASEFAVE also recognized the best final project awards, honoring “Art Corner” in Madrid, “Interwoven Realities” in Seville, and “Echoes of the Landscape” in Sierra Nevada. These awards are essential for highlighting emerging new talents in the field of architecture.

In addition to the main prizes, ASEFAVE paid tribute to Xavier Bohigas for his outstanding professional career, establishing him as an influential figure in the construction and architecture sector.

The award ceremony concluded another successful edition of Veteco, which continues to be a vital platform for discussions on crucial issues such as regulatory updates, labor shortages, and fiscal implications for the sector.

Formed in 1977, ASEFAVE represents the leading manufacturers of windows and sun protection systems in Spain, coordinating the sector’s demands under the leadership of Miguel Robles and a committed executive team dedicated to the development and sustainability of the sector.
