BORA revolutionizes the kitchen with the first self-cleaning sink in history.

Bora has revolutionized the kitchen with its latest release, a self-cleaning sink that cleans itself with just a push of a button. Water flows from all four sides to ensure everything is thoroughly cleaned.

The concept of a self-cleaning sink might seem complicated, but in reality, it’s simpler than it appears. Water flows evenly from all edges, sweeping away all dirt. The sink is made from Cristadur, a patented quartz composite material that aids the smooth laminar water flow in its cleaning process, creating a beautiful pearlescent effect for even greater kitchen hygiene.

Applying Engineering Ingenuity

Developers faced the challenge of ensuring water didn’t pool in the center of the sink but flowed towards the drain near the back. To achieve this, an intelligently designed flow profile evenly distributes water across the satin surface structure without any seams.

The self-cleaning function is activated by pressing a button on the faucet head, specifically developed for the BORA sink. It’s perfectly positioned so users don’t have to reach over hot water coming out of the faucet. The head also includes a sensor with an LED that changes from blue to red to indicate the water’s temperature.

Different operating modes are another clever detail from practical testing. In pulse mode, the cleaning function is activated as long as the button is pressed. In continuous mode, pressing the touch sensor or faucet button for 5 seconds automatically triggers the rinse function for another 15 seconds.

Perfect for Any Kitchen: Ingenious Features in a Timeless Design

With its sleek black finish, the BORA sink withstands water temperatures up to 180 degrees and can be paired with all standard faucets. For those wishing to install a functional faucet, like Quooker, the sink is also available without the matte black powder-coated BORA faucet. In this case, the self-cleaning function is controlled by a touch sensor that can be freely placed under the countertop.

Like all BORA products, the sink features a timeless minimalist design. The overflow is intentionally placed on the opposite side for a clear view of the jet-black finish. The high-quality undermount sink, made by SCHOCK in the Bavarian Forest, doesn’t require additional installation depth, allowing for easy standard drainage systems installation. BORA designed the faucet in-house and commissioned its production to a prestigious manufacturer. Its discreet design also perfectly complements the BORA X BO, a professional steam oven for your home.

BORA continues to transform the kitchen as a living space with another extraordinary product, aligning with the company’s mission to offer users the best culinary experience. BORA’s firm belief that this involves more than just meal preparation, but also food shopping, storage, and processing is reflected in the diverse range of communications, both online and offline, used to inspire cooking enthusiasts everywhere.
