Lopital, a leading company in developing ergonomic solutions for the healthcare sector, has made a significant stride in optimizing its production processes by implementing the innovative Lubrinox fasteners. Based in the Netherlands, Lopital had faced severe challenges from the seizing of stainless steel components in moist environments, a problem that affected efficiency, hygiene, and safety in critical applications such as showers and sanitary areas.
Since its inception in 1977, Lopital has been recognized for creating products that meet the highest standards of quality and durability, including shower chairs, lifts, and changing tables. These products are constantly exposed to water, posing a considerable challenge, especially because the use of grease in the assembly processes is not only unhygienic, but it also complicates the correct application of thread locking solutions, endangering the safety of the connections.
In search of a more efficient alternative, Lopital began collaborating with Fabory, who in 2023 introduced the Lubrinox fasteners. After successfully testing them, Lopital has adopted them in about 90% of its applications. These pre-coated fasteners ensure a smooth assembly between stainless steel elements and are specifically designed for moist environments. They also make it possible to apply thread locking solutions, something that was not feasible with conventional lubricants.
Hans Vermeer, the operations manager at Lopital, highlighted the value of eliminating the use of greases in assembly materials, which allows the use of stainless steel without the risk of seizing. A technician from the production department mentioned that the Lubrinox fasteners have significantly optimized the assembly processes, making daily work easier.
The relationship between Fabory and Lopital, which began in 1989, has been a solid foundation for the development of this solution. Martijn Treffers, an account manager at Fabory, stated that the introduction of Lubrinox is a testament to the commitment to improving operational efficiency and product quality, further strengthening the collaboration between both companies. This advancement represents not only a technological leap but also a significant improvement in the hygiene and safety of the equipment manufactured by Lopital.
