Slight Decrease in the Consumption of Prefabricated Products in 2024, According to Andece

The National Association of the Precast Concrete Industry (ANDECE) recently released its consumption statistics for the year 2024, offering valuable insights into the development of precast concrete use across Spain’s Autonomous Communities. A notable trend was the significant increase in consumption observed in several regions, with La Rioja and Cantabria leading, each recording growth of over 30%. Navarra also experienced a notable increase, surpassing 20%.

ANDECE’s report indicates that other Autonomous Communities, including Aragon, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castile and Leon, Madrid, and Murcia, saw double-digit growth rates, showing an upward trend in the sector. Andalusia, Galicia, and the Basque Country were not far behind, reporting increases in the consumption of these materials. Despite these advances, overall statistics point to a slight decrease of 0.5% in precast concrete consumption compared to the previous year, with declines in regions like the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, and Extremadura.

In conjunction with the consumption analysis, ANDECE announced the results of the second edition of the ANDECE Vocational Training Awards Manuel Aguado. This time, the first prize, accompanied by a financial award of 1,000 euros, was awarded to Ilyasse El Khamssi, Ayoub Hidji, and Francisco Ramos from IES Virgen del Mar in Adra, for their project titled “Realization of Precast Concrete Beams.”

Among the finalists, who each received a prize of 200 euros, were projects as innovative as the “Renovation of an Exchange with Precast Concrete” and “Cultural Center Proposal.”

The award ceremony is scheduled for April 24, 2025, during the ANDECE General Assembly, coinciding with the REBUILD Fair at IFEMA, Madrid. This event will bring together leading figures from the construction and architecture sector, providing a conducive space for the exchange of ideas and advancements in the industry.
