The Ayantam villa in Camoján (Marbella) achieves exceptional BREEAM certification with Schneider Electric solutions.

The Villa AYANTAM in Camoján, Marbella, has taken a significant step towards sustainability by achieving the prestigious BREEAM certification at the Exceptional level in the design phase. This accomplishment, thanks to the integration of advanced solutions provided by Schneider Electric, sets a milestone in the residential building sector in Spain.

Nestled in an exclusive area of Malaga, the villa has been designed to maintain optimal living conditions and comfort efficiently. Among the solutions implemented, the EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) system stands out, acting as the “brain” behind the building’s energy management. This system not only manages energy resources comprehensively but also contributes to achieving exceptional levels of sustainability without compromising the comfort of its residents.

Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is the company behind this innovative solution. The company announced that Villa AYANTAM Camoján has not only achieved the BREEAM Exceptional certification but has also outperformed any other residential project in Spain with an impressive design phase score of 89.25. Less than 1% of buildings certified in sustainability achieve this level, underscoring the significance of this achievement.

Patricia Pimenta, VP of Home & Distribution at Schneider Electric in Iberia, stated that this recognition is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the company’s solutions to increase sustainability and energy efficiency in residential projects. Carlos Martínez Jarabo, partner at S&H and Project Manager of the project, highlighted the developer’s commitment to Schneider Electric from the beginning of the project to ensure the highest standards of sustainability and health.

The integration of all the villa’s energy systems through the EcoStruxure® Building Operation platform allows connecting and controlling all the elements of the home. This Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled architecture collects data in the cloud to analyze and optimize energy consumption, controlling parameters such as electric and water consumption, temperatures, air quality, and on-site renewable energy production.

Furthermore, the KNX system under a Schneider Electric web server centralizes the total control of the home, enhancing energy efficiency and optimizing comfort. This includes lighting, climate control, scene generation based on schedules or uses, irrigation, and alarms.

EcoStruxure Building Operation integrates its control subsystems based on standardized protocols like BACnet IP, KNX, and Modbus, allowing coordinated and efficient operation of the different home elements. This integration facilitates more informed decision-making and optimizes processes such as electric vehicle charging and hot water production based on the availability of photovoltaic energy and weather forecast.

The advanced technology of EBO also facilitates preventive and corrective maintenance through intuitive 3D visualizations and an alarm management system that prioritizes urgent events, allowing for an immediate and efficient response.

In sum, the BREEFAM Exceptional level certification awarded to Villa AYANTAM in Camoján acknowledges the commitment to sustainably and technological innovation in the residential sector. Residents of this villa will not only enjoy luxury and comfort but will also actively contribute to the preservation of the environment, leaving a positive legacy for future generations. All this while ensuring a high level of cybersecurity in each of the integrated systems.
