Agricultural Engineering and Technology in Andalusia: A Fundamental Pillar in Europe.

Seville has become a prominent reference point in the field of agricultural innovation thanks to the recent celebration of two events organized by the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIA) of the University of Seville. These events are part of the Andalucía Agrotech DIH project, whose purpose is to promote and consolidate Andalusian precision technologies in the European market, with active participation from companies from Italy and France.

During the month of January, ETSIA was transformed into a specialized training environment, fostering cooperation in precision agriculture in collaboration with the Andalusian company Agroplanning. The research group Smart Biosystems Laboratory provided practical and rigorous training in the use of advanced technologies, such as intelligent machinery control ISOBUS, application mapping from tractors, and solutions for precise input dosing.

Companies from the Italian regions of Emilia-Romagna and Champagne in France have shown a growing interest in evaluating the maturity and implementation of these innovations. The events in Seville allowed for work on the design and adjustment of new business models, facilitating the penetration of these solutions in the Italian and French markets. The intensive and well-structured training program ensured that participants acquired key digital skills to market, install, and provide high-quality after-sales service.

The Smart Biosystems Laboratory believes that exchanging experiences with professionals and companies from other European regions is essential. This type of collaboration is not only crucial for understanding the current state of precision agriculture in other countries, but also key to internationalizing the innovations that local researchers and companies develop. This public-private collaboration, involving the University and agri-food technology companies like Agroplanning, establishes the foundations for sustainable and effective growth in the agricultural sector.
