Amazon Bedrock Flows Now Available with Enhanced Security and Traceability

Amazon has officially launched Amazon Bedrock Flows, an innovative tool designed to revolutionize the development and execution of workflows in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), eliminating the need for advanced programming. This solution, previously known as Prompt Flows, offers an intuitive visual interface that simplifies development by integrating high-tech foundational models, prompts, agents, knowledge bases, and other AWS services.

Amazon Bedrock Flows stands out for its flexibility to define workflows based on specific business logic, and its ability to enable rapid testing and deployment through SDK APIs and serverless infrastructure. These features aim to make it easier for companies and developers to harness the power of generative artificial intelligence to create more sophisticated and efficient solutions.

Renowned companies like Thomson Reuters and Dentsu Creative are already reporting the benefits of this technology. Laura Skylaki, Vice President of Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, and Data Platforms at Thomson Reuters, noted that Bedrock Flows enhances productivity and accelerates the development of generative artificial intelligence applications.

Similarly, Thiago Winkler, Chief Operating Officer for Dentsu Creative Brazil, highlighted how Bedrock Flows has improved transparency and visibility of generative AI solutions in his organization, simplifying the transformation of customer experiences even for users without advanced technical skills.

One of the new features that Amazon has included in Bedrock Flows is an enhanced focus on security and traceability of artificial intelligence applications. Guardrails have been introduced, systems that filter harmful content and ensure that model interactions align with predefined controls. Additionally, improved traceability facilitates validation and debugging of workflows, allowing users to detect errors and bottlenecks more efficiently.

To illustrate these advances, Amazon presented a hypothetical case of ACME Corp, an e-commerce company facing common challenges when implementing a customer service chatbot. Here, the capabilities of Amazon Bedrock Flows were shown to be effective in ensuring secure and consistent interactions.

Starting in February 2025, these new features of Amazon Bedrock Flows will come at a cost. Amazon encourages developers to explore these capabilities to enhance their development processes in generative artificial intelligence and offers support through AWS re:Post and an open community for sharing experiences and learning from peers.
