Announcement of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27823 in the Canary Channel.

Microsoft has presented a new version of Windows 11 Insider Preview, corresponding to Build 27823, intended for users of the Canary Channel. This release includes a set of improvements and fixes aimed at optimizing the experience of Insiders using this version on their devices.

Among the novelties, significant adjustments have been made to File Explorer. An issue that caused the application to appear blank when switching to it from a minimized window has been resolved. A bug in the dropdown menu of the command bar, which was not properly displayed at certain resolutions, has also been fixed. Additionally, accessibility of File Explorer has been improved by enhancing support for text scaling in different sections.

The update also addresses issues related to data input. An error in ctfmon.exe when copying content from some applications has been rectified, as well as a flaw in the GetRawInputData function, which had difficulties reading data in specific circumstances. Furthermore, improvements have been made to the login process, fixing an error that caused the “Sign in Options” to unexpectedly close.

Regarding system settings, crashes that caused the Settings app to close when interacting with Bluetooth and camera options have been fixed. Unusual space issues in sound settings have been adjusted, and errors in the printing system that prevented non-administrator users from uninstalling added printers have been corrected.

Despite these improvements, the update presents some known issues. An important notice for Copilot+ PC users points out that joining the Canary Channel from other channels may result in losing access to Windows Hello. Additionally, a visual bug causes the switch to receive the latest updates to not display correctly and deactivate automatically, although this issue is being addressed.

Microsoft reminds Insiders in the Canary Channel that these versions should not be considered equivalent to formal Windows releases, as the changes are part of an ongoing development process and may not materialize in future versions. Users are advised to stay tuned for new features that may appear in other channels before their release in the Canary Channel. Finally, the Windows Insiders team emphasizes the importance of performing a clean installation of Windows 11 if exiting the Canary Channel, and has provided a useful resource where Insiders can check the status of versions across different channels.
