This situation is particularly concerning for the LGBTQ+ community, which may face additional risks if their personal information is misused. In response, the organization noyb has chosen to file a complaint with the data protection authority in Austria against Bumble, accusing the platform of failing to secure appropriate consent from its users and of sharing personal data with OpenAI without authorization.

Moreover, Grindr plans to allow its chatbot to send messages and make restaurant reservations without human intervention, a measure that, while seemingly convenient, raises concerns about the management and protection of personal data. Although the company has stated that it takes privacy concerns seriously, its track record in this area is not entirely favorable.

The photo selection tools launched by Tinder and Bumble have also come under criticism. These technologies, which use facial recognition, do not provide sufficient guarantees regarding the protection of users’ biometric data.
