This week, the latest version of Windows 11 Insider Preview has been released, Build 27749, for the Canary Channel, which brings a series of new features and improvements focused on enhancing the user experience. However, SDKs for the 27xxx series are not yet available.
One of the most notable innovations includes a new shortcut for the Narrator, which makes it easier to copy the last content read by this function to the clipboard, using the key combination “Narrator key + control + X”. Additionally, the Narrator now has the ability to automatically play the content of emails in the revamped Outlook app, simulating the behavior of the classic version.
In terms of improvements, an issue in File Explorer where items in the navigation pane appeared more spaced out than usual has been resolved. An issue displaying vertical RAW images as horizontal thumbnails has also been fixed.
A change has been introduced in the taskbar and system tray, with the addition of a visible search box when the taskbar is set to automatically hide. Input options have also been revisited, improving the mouse function that shows the pointer location when pressing the CTRL key on high-resolution screens.
Furthermore, an error in Task Manager that showed a count of 0 for applications and processes has been addressed. In terms of audio, an issue where the volume of some devices unexpectedly set to 100% when turning on the device or exiting suspension mode has been fixed.
Despite these advancements, the new version has some identified problems. There are issues with the application of policies related to the Digital Markets Act in the EEA, as well as difficulties with certain remote access applications and a bug in displaying the desktop background with multiple monitors.
For users interested in leaving the Canary Channel, it is advised that they perform a clean installation of Windows 11, as technical changes prevent transfer to a channel with numerically lower builds without this procedure.
Windows invites Insiders to provide feedback on these features, some of which may not be included in the final versions. Build 27749 is now available for download in ISO format, allowing users to try out these functions and improvements on their devices.
