Dreamfit revolutionizes the fitness industry with Dreamgreen.

The Spanish gym chain Dreamfit is proud to announce its ambitious sustainability project, aiming to set a new standard in the fitness industry: “Dreamgreen, a commitment to green and sustainable fitness.”

The goal is to “sweat without sweating the planet”: to build, manage, and live day to day in the gyms, taking care of the physical and mental health of people, while also caring for a better future. The heart of this project not only incorporates eco-friendly technology and materials but also promotes equality and inclusion for all its customers and employees.

“At Dreamfit gyms, we believe that sustainability and equality are not just trendy concepts, but fundamental pillars of our business philosophy. We want to be an example of how companies can positively contribute to society and the environment,” says Rafael Cecilio, president of Dreamfit. “Our goal is to provide a space where everyone feels welcome and motivated to achieve their health and wellness goals, while taking care of our planet.”

In its commitment to efficient resource use, Dreamfit has an eco-intelligent digital building management system that controls and automates elements such as air conditioning, lighting, elevators, water consumption, electricity consumption, fire protection installation, televisions, etc. Additionally, 100% of the energy consumed during training is green or renewable, and gym lighting is LED, currently the most eco-friendly light in the market.

To insulate their centers from noise and temperature, they cover the building facade and walls with rock wool. This natural material is known not only for being an excellent thermal and acoustic insulator but also for improving the building’s energy efficiency, being recyclable, and contributing to reducing the carbon footprint.

Dreamfit’s next challenge in its commitment to a better future is to incorporate photovoltaic solar installations for energy self-consumption, already installed in many of its gyms. The project aims for the centers to produce at least 40% of the total energy they consume in a standard year.

Furthermore, Dreamfit responsibly uses water thanks to its eco-timed showers, promoting more conscious behavior among users and employees, and the installation of air and water mixers in sink faucets, called aerators, which save up to 80% of water each time they are used. Additionally, thanks to a water recirculation network installation, hot water is kept circulating waiting for the faucet to be opened, avoiding wasting cold water until hot water comes out. In most Dreamfit gyms, hot water is produced with a technology called aerothermal, considered renewable energy, avoiding the consumption of primary fossil energies.

Training at Dreamfit is done on thousands of recycled tires. The flooring in the free weight and functional training area of their gyms is made of recycled SBR rubber, a mixture of grains from used tires once heavy metals are removed. To protect walls from scratches, hits, and stains, they are coated with a vinyl covering that is 100% recyclable and free of phthalate plasticizers and biocides.

Another key point to highlight about this project is its strong commitment to equality and diversity. These initiatives include: 0% Gender pay gap. Equality is also trained!, Stable and secure employment, Diversity and inclusion in its DNA, Talent search and promotion, continuous training and permanent innovation.

Dreamgreen is a way of life, a search for continuous sustainable improvement.
