Enalta Group presents the Ninth Edition of its prestigious Cemetery Contest in Spain.

The leading funeral services company Enalta has launched the ninth edition of their Cemetery Contest of Spain, an initiative that aims to highlight the historical, social, environmental, and artistic importance of cemeteries in the country. This competition aims to recognize the efforts of municipalities that have prioritized the care and conservation of these spaces, promoting their role as places of memory and reflection within communities.

With a total of prizes amounting to 7,000 euros, the contest is divided into five categories: Best Cemetery, Best Story, Best Monument, Best Open Doors Activity, and Best Environmental Initiative. These distinctions not only pay tribute to the memory of those who have passed, but also seek to raise awareness about the heritage value that these places represent.

The period for submitting nominations will be open from March 11th to April 21st. Interested municipalities can submit their proposals through a form that will be available in Adiós Cultural magazine. On April 25th, the preselected candidates will be announced, who will be chosen by a jury specialized in topics related to history and funerary art.

Popular voting will take place between April 28th and June 4th, allowing the community to actively participate in choosing the winners. This interaction not only facilitates the recognition of cemeteries, but also offers citizens the opportunity to reconnect with the history and culture of their locality.

Over the years, the Cemetery Contest of Spain has acquired significant cultural significance for the funeral sector, becoming a reference for municipalities seeking to transform these spaces into places worthy of visit and appreciation. This year’s edition reaffirms Enalta’s commitment to heritage preservation, the promotion of cultural tourism, and the destigmatization of death as a natural component of the life cycle. The awards ceremony will take place at an event following the voting process, where the winners of each category will be revealed.
