FeetUp Hostels Presents DCON: The Revolutionary Digital Concierge Platform for Tourism

This Wednesday, a successful webinar was held to present DCON – Digital Concierge, an innovative technology platform developed by Nest House S.L., part of the FeetUp Hostels group. This project aims to enhance the guest experience in tourist accommodations and is supported by the DUM 2023 – Last Mile Digitalization Program, co-financed by the European Union.

The open and free event attracted numerous professionals from the tourism sector, including accommodation managers, technical experts, and representatives from public entities. The full content of the webinar is available on YouTube.

Juan Motilla, operations director of Nest House S.L., opened the event by presenting the initiative as part of the group’s innovation and sustainability strategy. Motilla highlighted FeetUp’s commitment to the continuous improvement of its services, emphasizing that DCON represents a significant advancement in customer service through the integration of automation, personalization, and sustainability.

According to Motilla, DCON addresses the need to cater to an increasingly autonomous and demanding traveler, arguing that traditional concierge services no longer meet the expectations of today’s guests. The new tool is positioned as a modern and scalable alternative.

The technical presentation was led by Mattia Penna, technology consultant and lead developer, who detailed the key features of the application. These include contactless online check-in, smart recommendations, a real-time event agenda, and experience bookings, all through an accessible and multilingual interface. Penna also explained the technological architecture behind DCON, which utilizes Ionic, Vue.js, and Symfony, allowing for modular and efficient development.

The platform is already operational in several hostels of the group in Valencia, where it has shown positive results in terms of customer experience, internal efficiency, and the hiring of complementary services. With a high level of technological maturity, DCON is ready to expand to new locations and business models.

The webinar concluded with a discussion on the future of digitalization in the tourism sector and the potential of DCON as a replicable solution. FeetUp Hostels aims not only to expand the tool internally but also to offer it to other stakeholders in the sector who wish to benefit from similar solutions.

With this initiative, FeetUp positions itself as an innovative group committed to continuous improvement and digital transformation in the tourism sector.
