The Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) has today launched Fluxnova, an open orchestration platform, at the Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF). This project has been developed in collaboration with renowned institutions such as Fidelity Investments, NatWest Group, Deutsche Bank, and Capital One, aiming to reform the infrastructure of financial organizations, reduce dependency on vendors, and promote long-term resilience in the sector.
Fluxnova will empower developers to create and implement Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Decision Model and Notation (DMN) models, facilitating scalable and auditable workflows. The platform is designed for companies to visualize and automate their processes, thereby establishing robust governance across their operations.
This innovative tool responds to the increasing demands of the industry, offering complete visibility into workflows and allowing organizations to adapt to changing regulations, technological advancements, and new market demands. Fluxnova is presented as a neutral and open approach that fosters creativity and innovation while protecting institutions from operational risks.
Key features include the ability to accelerate the automation of complex processes, enhance agility in response to changes, and ensure a comprehensive workflow history that facilitates auditing. Additionally, ease of migration from traditional tools and readiness to integrate emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, are highlighted.
Leaders from participating institutions have expressed their enthusiasm for this initiative. Gabriele Columbro, CEO of FINOS, stated that Fluxnova represents a significant advancement in open collaboration within the financial sector, allowing institutions to collectively define their future. Joe Frazier from Fidelity Investments emphasized the importance of process modeling in the industry and the need to build strong communities around open source.
Fluxnova also opens its doors to the community, inviting those interested to explore the platform, test its functionality, and contribute to its development through the GitHub repository. This initiative not only represents a technical opportunity but also a possibility to transform the financial services ecosystem from a collaborative and open perspective.
