Today a new version of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7262 (KB5070303) has been released for the Dev and Beta channels. This update is part of the 25H2 version of Windows 11 and offers users in the development channel the opportunity to switch to the Beta channel for a limited time. This option will be available as long as both channels continue to receive updates based on 25H2, but will close once the Dev channel advances to a higher version.
One of the key highlights of this version is the support for high-definition (HD) voices in Narrator and Magnifier, specifically for American English. This advancement is based on advanced text-to-speech models and aims to provide a more natural auditory experience, reducing fatigue during extended use sessions.
Additionally, a new math reading feature has been implemented in Narrator. This functionality makes it easier for blind or low-vision users to understand equations in applications like Microsoft 365 Word, which is a significant advancement for STEM education, allowing for more confident exploration of mathematical content.
Another improvement is the update to the “Click to Do” context menu, which will now be more intuitive and allow for quicker access to actions such as copy and save. Performance adjustments have also been made for devices using haptic feedback, improving interaction with the system interface.
Other changes and enhancements include an update to image object selection and new options in the initial interface tutorial. However, certain issues have been identified, such as failures in opening the Start menu and displaying certain applications in the system tray.
This update is designed for those who wish to receive the latest features in a trial period, and Insiders are encouraged to use the Feedback Hub to share their experiences and suggestions.
