Natursystem Renovates the Interior of the Pavilion of Victory at the Historic Sant Pau Complex

Here’s the translation into American English:

Barcelona has initiated an important rehabilitation process for the Pavilion of Victoria, an emblematic building located in the modernist site of Sant Pau, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. With the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the company Natursystem will be responsible for carrying out the interior rehabilitation works, aimed at restoring and preserving this iconic architectural legacy for future generations.

The construction permit has been granted by the City Council of Barcelona, allowing the scheduled work to begin in October. This first phase is part of an ambitious comprehensive rehabilitation plan driven by the Villavecchia Foundation and the Private Foundation Hospital of the Holy Cross and Saint Paul. Both institutions have collaborated to transform the pavilion, not only restoring it but also adapting it for functional and social use.

The project will cover a built area of 1,380 m² and 1,300 m² of gardens, under the direction of architect Carme Pinós. Once the rehabilitation is completed, the Pavilion of Victoria will be transformed into the first children’s hospice in Catalonia, aimed at caring for children and young people suffering from advanced chronic illnesses, as well as providing comprehensive support to their families. In addition to its care function, it will be established as a training and research center for pediatric palliative care and a meeting space for professionals and organizations in the healthcare and social sectors.

With this initiative, Natursystem reaffirms its commitment not only to the rehabilitation of architectural heritage but also to sustainability. The project represents a vital recovery of a building that is not only a symbol of modernism but is also destined to have a significant social impact in the field of children’s health, thereby consolidating its legacy in the architectural restoration of Barcelona.
