Release of Windows 11 Build 22631.5116 in the Preview Channel.

Microsoft has released a new update for Windows Insider program users, introducing version 22631.5116 (KB5053657) of Windows 11 in the Release Preview Channel. This update focuses on improving accessibility and the overall operating system experience, incorporating a number of new features and fixes.

Among the gradually implementing features, improvements to accessibility in File Explorer stand out, which now offers increased text scaling support. However, changes to contextual menu labels, which had been previously announced, have been postponed to address some additional issues.

In the Settings section, the option to enable the “Your accounts” homepage card on commercial devices is introduced. Informative cards about storage, graphics, and RAM have also been added to the top of the “About” section. Additionally, a language-related error in Japanese name display has been corrected.

The update also brings enhancements for Gamepad users. The new keyboard layout for the touch keyboard allows the use of Xbox controllers for navigation and typing. This includes the addition of an icon in the system tray that improves accessibility to the emoji panel and other symbols.

Another significant improvement is found in Task Manager, which now calculates CPU utilization more accurately and in line with industry standards. A new optional column has been added to the details tab that displays the previous utilization value.

Regarding normal deployment updates, improvements have been made to the file system and text quality for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages by introducing the Noto font family. Connectivity issues on mobile devices and printer software have also been addressed, significantly enhancing user experience.

With this update, Microsoft continues to refine Windows 11, emphasizing accessibility and user experience, as it prepares for a broader deployment in the near future.
