Release of Windows 11 Build 26100.2152 in the Preview Channel.

Microsoft has announced a new update for Windows 11 users in the Release Preview Channel. The update, identified as Windows 11 Build 26100.2152 (KB5044384), introduces a series of improvements and new features aimed at enhancing the user experience in the 24H2 version of the operating system.

One of the main innovations is the ability to directly access the content of mobile devices from the PC start menu. This will allow Android users, linked through Phone Link, to check battery status, access voicemails, calls, photos, and continue with their recent activities. Compatibility with iOS is planned for future updates.

The update also introduces options to manage notifications more effectively, allowing users to stop unwanted suggestions on which notifications to disable. Additionally, a preview function has been added for the Windows Sandbox client, which now includes real-time clipboard redirection, control of audio and video inputs, and the ability to share folders with the host.

Another notable improvement is the addition of a button to disconnect virtual hard drives (VHD/VHDX) from the system settings, and a redesign of the Wi-Fi password dialog that aligns with the visual style of Windows 11.

In the standard deployment format, users will now be able to configure the Copilot key on their keyboards to open different applications according to their preferences. This functionality will only be available for keyboards with the Copilot key assigned.

On a technical level, the update fixes various errors, such as issues with the user interface display when running certain applications, conflicts with HTML applications (HTA), and shutdown errors related to Winlogon. It also includes an update to the list of potentially vulnerable drivers to protect the system against known attacks such as “Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver” (BYOVD).

This series of improvements and fixes reaffirms Microsoft’s commitment to security and usability, providing Windows 11 users with a more agile and functional system. The company will continue to gradually release new updates and features to ensure a positive and effective impact on all its users.
