Samsung Electronics has made a significant advancement in cybersecurity by announcing that its new vacuum robot, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, and the Bespoke AI Refrigerator have become the first products to receive the IT security label from BSI. This recognition was achieved following the signing of a mutual recognition agreement between the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Federal Office for Information Security in Germany (BSI). This agreement allows for reciprocal recognition of cybersecurity assessments for labeled products, facilitating companies in accelerating their market access and fostering international trust.
The presentation of the new labels and the formalization of the agreement took place during a ceremony at IFA 2025 in Berlin. Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, expressed his satisfaction with this achievement: “We are honored to be the first to be mutually recognized under the MRA between Korea and Germany.” He also stated that the company will continue to prioritize robust security for the Internet of Things, enabling users to enjoy the convenience of AI-powered appliances with greater confidence.
The KISA IoT Cybersecurity certification evaluates products across various categories, granting one of three classifications: Lite, Basic, or Standard, based on their ability to protect against digital threats. Samsung stands out as the first and only brand to receive the “Standard” classification, which is reserved for devices capable of resisting advanced hacking attempts.
The vacuum robot and refrigerator include a range of advanced security technologies that enable a safer and smarter home automation experience. These technologies include Samsung Knox, which protects devices from malware and external threats, as well as the Knox Matrix Trust Chain, which monitors the security status of all interconnected devices, and the Knox Vault, which safeguards sensitive data in a secure chip.
Thanks to these innovations, users can enjoy AI functions such as object recognition on the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra and connectivity with SmartThings, all while their data and device security are rigorously protected. Samsung showcased these products and other innovations in AI and connectivity for home appliances during the IFA 2025 event.
