Samsung Medison, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics’s medical equipment division, participated in the 34th Annual Academic Conference of the ISUOG World Congress 2024 (International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology) held in Budapest, Hungary, from September 15th to 18th. During the event, the company unveiled its new premium ultrasound system for obstetrics and gynecology, the HERA Z20, which has been recognized as one of the most significant advancements in the field.
The HERA Z20 stands out for its advanced diagnostic assistance features with artificial intelligence (AI) designed to improve the health of women and fetuses. One of the most notable innovations is the Live ViewAssist™, which provides real-time diagnostics, significantly reducing the time needed for measurements and increasing accuracy in automatically classifying and measuring cross sections.
Additionally, the device incorporates new functions like Live Q-scan and A-Focus™, which enhance image quality by reducing noise and providing clearer images at each scanning depth. The Crystal Architecture™ technology, owned by Samsung Healthcare, uses an enhanced second-generation engine to further increase image clarity.
The HERA Z20 not only optimizes diagnosis but also enhances user convenience thanks to the My HERA™ function, which allows customization of the system based on individual preferences. With My HERA™, users can preconfigure specific diagnostic values for different types of exams.
Among other innovations, features like EzStructure™ and EzFlow™ allow for optimal image adjustment with just the touch of a button, facilitating anatomical examination. The system also includes a main monitor and a touch panel, both adjustable in angle and ergonomically designed for increased comfort.
Samsung Medison plans to perform a live scan of the HERA Z20 during the event to demonstrate the real-time efficiency of its AI-driven diagnostic assistance features. Additionally, a new website, theSUITE, was launched during the congress, compiling educational content on Samsung’s ultrasound systems. To celebrate the website launch, a membership registration event will be held.
In their commitment to sustainability, Samsung Medison has implemented various eco-friendly measures in the manufacturing of the HERA Z20, such as reducing product volume and using recycled materials in packaging and system construction. Part of the exhibition booth was designated as an “eco zone” to share the company’s energy policies and promote the use of environmentally-friendly materials.
