Schaeffler Drives Electrification and Sustainability in the Construction Machinery Sector.

Here’s the translation into American English:

Schaeffler has unveiled its innovative product portfolio for construction machinery at the bauma 2025 trade fair, held in Munich, Germany. The company emphasizes the importance of sensor systems to maximize the utilization and availability of machine capabilities. Its offerings include bearings, Ewellix linear actuators, and electric motors, all designed to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the sector.

As part of its decarbonization strategy, the electrification of equipment is essential. Patrick Scherr, Global Leader of the Offroad sector in the Bearings & Industrial Solutions division, highlighted that the goal is to provide products that enable smarter, cleaner, and safer movement. In this way, Schaeffler positions itself as a key provider for construction machinery manufacturers.

The portfolio includes highly efficient electric motors capable of operating at voltages of up to 800 V and with a maximum continuous power of 300 kW. These motors, which reach speeds of up to 10,500 rpm, are specifically designed for heavy machinery, significantly contributing to electric mobility and the reduction of CO₂ emissions.

Additionally, Ewellix’s electromechanical linear actuators offer precise control solutions for various applications, with nominal forces ranging from 1.5 to 150 kN and stroke lengths from 300 to 2,000 mm. Their design allows for effective synchronization of multiple cylinders, extending maintenance intervals and reducing the total cost of ownership throughout the machine’s lifespan.

Another innovation presented is the low-friction bearings, which already lead to significant energy savings and also help reduce the total cost of ownership. Their optimized design performs better, and their use in motors and hydraulic pumps can facilitate considerable energy savings. If applied in a thousand construction machines, the estimated annual savings could reach up to 26,000 MWh, equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 6,500 homes.

With these advancements, Schaeffler reaffirms its commitment to transforming the construction machinery sector towards a more efficient and sustainable future.
