Schaeffler launches its first Sustainability Report according to the CSRD.

The Schaeffler Group has taken a significant step in its commitment to sustainability by publishing its first sustainability report in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This initiative is part of the company’s strategy following the recent merger with Vitesco, highlighting sustainability as a key priority for the combined organization. Additionally, Schaeffler has maintained the highest rating of “Leadership” in the CDP assessment, demonstrating its dedication to sustainable business practices.

The report aims to establish a high degree of transparency with the company’s stakeholders while showcasing progress in sustainability. Compliant with the European Standards for Sustainability Reporting (ESRS), this document is part of the 2024 Annual Report and marks a milestone in the Group’s corporate responsibility.

Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler, emphasized the importance of sustainability in the company’s operations, stating: “We take our responsibility seriously and, together with our customers and partners, we will continue to strive for solutions that enable sustainable business operations. Transparency is essential for us.”

It is important to note that the report largely reflects Schaeffler Group’s sustainability results prior to the full integration of Vitesco Technologies Group AG, which was dissolved following the merger in October 2024. However, data from Vitesco subsidiaries has been incorporated since the fourth quarter, demonstrating a collaborative approach towards a sustainable future.

Schaeffler’s commitment to sustainability has been recognized by various rankings and assessments. In the recent CDP assessment, the company received an “A” in the climate change category and an “A-” in the water security evaluation, solidifying its position among the sustainability leaders. Additionally, it was awarded the Global Transition Award 2024 by Handelsblatt newspaper, acknowledging its efforts in mitigating climate change and contributing to a global economy focused on limiting warming to 1.5 degrees.

The Schaeffler Group’s sustainability report not only details the key areas of focus for the company in 2024 but also tracks the evolution of established indicators and objectives. This document is digitally available to all interested parties, reaffirming the company’s commitment to open and responsible communication.
