Support for the Development of Projects in the Microelectronics and Semiconductors Value Chain 2025

The Ministry of Industry and Tourism has announced a new call for aid aimed at projects that strengthen the value chain of microelectronics and semiconductors in Spain. With a budget of 110 million euros, this initiative is part of Component 12: Industrial Policy Spain 2030 and within the PERTE Chip, under the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Spanish government.

The main objective of these aids is to stimulate the growth of the microelectronics ecosystem in the country, promoting the consolidation and expansion of companies operating in this sector. The aids are particularly focused on feasibility studies, industrial research projects, and experimental development, without the need to be integrated into specific pan-European programs.

The eligible areas for these projects are diverse and include chip design and development, semiconductor production, as well as the creation of tools and equipment for electronic design automation. Any company wishing to access these aids must be a commercial company, whether private or state-owned, established in Spain, regardless of its size.

Regarding the breakdown of the aids, it is expected that up to 8.25 million euros will be granted for feasibility studies, 35 million for industrial research projects, and 25 million for experimental development. The aid intensities vary depending on the type of project and the size of the company, with the most favorable ones for small and micro-enterprises.

In addition, increases of up to 25 percent in aids are considered if certain conditions are met, such as the project being selected by a member state of the European Union or effective collaboration between different companies from different countries.

Interested parties can apply for these aids through the Ministry’s electronic headquarters until December 31, 2025. This action represents a new boost to microelectronics in a context where this sector is becoming increasingly important to ensure the technological autonomy of Spain and the European Union.
