TEMS Presents Explorer Campus: Innovation in Sustainability and Educational Excellence

Here’s the translation into American English:

The English Montessori School (TEMS) has officially opened its new Explorer Campus at 11 Sopelana Street, in Moncloa – Aravaca, Madrid. This innovative educational center, aimed at students aged 7 to 16, promotes a blend of the Montessori method with contemporary educational approaches, thereby reinforcing TEMS’s commitment to academic excellence and sustainability.

During the inauguration, Jonathan Gunzi, director of TEMS, expressed his pride and highlighted the thousands of hours of work invested in this project over the past five years. The event was attended by numerous educational authorities, representatives from Cognita, families, and media. Among the attendees, Leticia Iglesias, Director of Communication and Sustainability at Línea Directa, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the school and families to achieve comprehensive education for students.

The Explorer Campus covers a total area of 11,151.63 m², with 7,005.06 m² built, and has been designed with energy efficiency and a connection to nature in mind. Key facilities include 14 classrooms for the Junior level, 24 regular classrooms, laboratories, and extensive outdoor areas exceeding 4,000 m². Additionally, the campus features various sports facilities, including courts and a climbing wall, as well as a 500-meter green path.

In terms of sustainability, the new campus boasts a green façade and 114 solar panels, which will generate more than 10% of the necessary energy, reinforcing TEMS’s commitment to responsible innovation and environmental respect.

With over 50 years of experience, TEMS has effectively combined the Montessori methodology with the British curriculum, providing a comprehensive and multilingual education. The recent acquisition of Montessori School La Florida and the upcoming introduction of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in September 2025 are clear examples of its commitment to educational excellence and expanding training options. Through these initiatives, TEMS positions itself as a leader in international education in Madrid, aligning with Cognita’s mission to deliver high-quality education in a global context.
