The Echo of the Fortress: Alhambra Guitars and HIDRAU, A Resilient Commitment

In the eleventh month since the isolated high depression (DANA) that affected the Valencian Community in October 2024, Alhambra Guitarras and HIDRAU are celebrating a story of solidarity and collaboration that has strengthened two pillars of the Valencian music industry.

On October 29, 2024, the DANA caused severe damage to HIDRAU’s facilities in Algemesí, threatening the future of a company with 50 years of history in piano bench manufacturing. In light of this difficult situation, Alhambra Guitarras decided to offer its support by making its production resources available to HIDRAU.

The quick and supportive response from Alhambra, which adapted its machinery to allow HIDRAU to resume production immediately, was crucial. Thanks to this act of collaboration, HIDRAU was able to secure its sales, retain its workforce, and ensure the continuity of its legacy just before celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025.

The decision to make this collaboration public on September 29, coinciding with the 11 months since the DANA, represents the strength of this union. The concept of “1+1” symbolizes the combined efforts and synergy between two brands that, together, become century-old references: Alhambra Guitarras, celebrating its 60th anniversary as a world leader in guitar making, and HIDRAU, preparing to celebrate its 50 years in the piano bench sector.

Valerià Torregrosa, CEO of Alhambra Guitarras, emphasized the importance of mutual support in the industry: “At Alhambra, we have always believed that the value of an industry lies in its people and their ability to support one another. Music unites us, but adversity has made us stronger. Seeing how our machines contributed to keeping HIDRAU’s legacy alive was the best proof that, even in the face of a DANA, resilience is unbeatable.”

Meanwhile, Raúl Romera, Managing Director of HIDRAU, expressed his gratitude: “In the most challenging moments after the DANA, Alhambra Guitarras reached out to us without hesitation. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to resume our production sooner than expected. We will always be grateful for that invaluable gesture of solidarity.”

This collaboration not only prevented the interruption of production at HIDRAU but also demonstrated the commitment of the Valencian industry to keep high-quality musical product manufacturing alive.
