The SECSE celebrates the Fifth Edition of the Dr. Fleming Awards for Health Excellence in Madrid.

The European Cultural, Social and Business Society (SECSE) has successfully held the 5th Edition of the Dr. Fleming Awards for Health Excellence. The event took place at the Illustrious Official College of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of Madrid, and brought together prominent figures from the medical, scientific, and academic fields, who were honored for their significant contributions to health and research.

Among the awardees, the Querer Foundation stood out, a reference in the education and research of rare neurological diseases in children. Founded in 2016 by Pilar García de la Granja and led by José Luis Puche, this organization has benefited more than 200 children, being responsible for carrying out eight research projects and raising awareness in society about these pathologies. Its comprehensive approach combines specialized education, scientific research, and a strong commitment to social awareness.

Dr. Óscar Larrosa, a specialist in Clinical Neurophysiology and founder of the Sleep Medicine Unit at MIP Salud, was recognized for his work in treating sleep disorders. He has dedicated his career to researching and raising awareness about the importance of rest in overall health.

Similarly, Dr. Adela Sáez Zafra, a surgeon at the Vithas Granada Hospital, received an award for her leadership in CO₂ laser surgery, standing out for her staunch defense of humanized medicine. As the founder of the CO₂ Laser Surgery Unit in her hospital, she has revolutionized the field of minimally invasive surgery, always prioritizing the patient’s well-being.

Other awardees included Dr. Vicente Mera, Head of Internal Medicine and Longevity at Sha Wellness Clinic, recognized for his innovative approach to preventive and personalized medicine, and Dr. Nildiana Cedeño, a standout in Aesthetic Medicine, awarded for her commitment to patient harmony at her clinic in Asturias.

The event also honored Dr. Javier Azúa-Romeo, Director of Pathological Anatomy at Analiza, for his leadership in diagnostic innovation, and Dr. Enrique Galindo Andújar, Head of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at HLA University Hospital Moncloa, for his career in advanced surgery and teaching.

The awards also included Dr. Francisco González-Llanos Fernández de Mesa, Head of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital of Toledo, recognized for his mastery in cranial and vertebral surgery, and José Luis Mulero Plata, embalmer and founder of the Spanish Funeral Institute, who was recognized for his humanitarian work in dignifying funeral services.

The ceremony closed with a message of thanks that reaffirmed SECSE’s commitment to recognizing talent, ethics, and innovation in service to society, highlighting the importance of these professionals in improving health and well-being.
