U.S. Polo Assn. and 4ocean Strengthen their Collaboration to Eliminate 160,000 kg of Marine Waste

The United States Polo Association (USPA) and the environmental company 4ocean have expanded their collaboration focused on sustainability, announcing that they will become Certified Cleaning Partners. This initiative aims to remove a total of 160,000 kilograms of waste from rivers, oceans, and coastlines around the world, adding 56,000 kilograms to the initial effort.

4ocean, since its creation in 2017, has managed to remove over 19 million kilograms of plastic waste and other debris from aquatic environments, using teams of captains and professional crews. Alex Schulze, co-founder of 4ocean, has emphasized the importance of having the support of U.S. Polo Assn., highlighting how this partnership has been essential in making a positive impact in the fight against plastic pollution.

The alliance between both organizations began in 2021 and has been strengthened with the goal of collecting waste under the motto “Play Your Part.” This effort is part of U.S. Polo Assn.’s global sustainability initiative, called USPA Life, which seeks to mitigate the brand’s environmental impact and align with the Sustainable Development Goals, thus promoting a beneficial effect on people, products, and the planet.

Over the years, U.S. Polo Assn. has actively participated in beach cleaning operations in Florida and has launched a line of sustainable products under the USPA Life label, aimed at consumers committed to ecology. J. Michael Prince, president and CEO of USPA Global, has expressed pride in the renewal of this collaboration, emphasizing that collective action is key to advancing sustainability and environmental responsibility.

In addition to cleaning initiatives, 4ocean has been designated the Official Recycling Partner of the 2025 U.S. Open Polo Championship. Special edition bracelets and an advertising campaign on platforms like ESPN have also been launched to increase awareness about the plastic crisis in oceans and encourage greater commitment to global sustainability. All information about this alliance and its activities is available on the official collaboration website.
