5% Increase in Precast Concrete Consumption through August, according to Andece

The consumption of precast concrete in Spain has seen a notable rise during the first eight months of 2025, according to recent stats released by ANDECE, the National Association of the Precast Concrete Industry. On a national level, there’s been a 5% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. However, this growth hasn’t been evenly spread across the country, as there’s been a variance between the different Autonomous Communities, with consumption rising in nine communities and falling in eight.

Regions experiencing an uptick in precast concrete usage include Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Valencian Community, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Madrid, and Navarre. Conversely, communities like Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Castile and Leon, Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja, Murcia, and the Basque Country have reported a decrease in the use of these materials.

In related news, on the 25th of November, members of the ANDECE Executive Board paid a visit to the central laboratory of structures and materials at CEDEX. This visit is part of a collaboration that includes the development of a joint project focused on frameworks, currently being undertaken by one of ANDECE’s directors.

Throughout 2025, ANDECE has promoted a series titled “Environmental Benefits of Using Precast Concrete,” which includes a range of courses dedicated to crucial sustainability topics. Key areas of focus include decarbonization, energy efficiency, and managing climate phenomena such as droughts, floods, and extreme heat episodes. Additionally, issues related to the use of recycled materials and the goal of achieving zero waste in production processes have been discussed.

ANDECE, which brings together the most innovative companies in Spain’s precast concrete sector, represents over 70% of the industry’s business volume. The associated companies are highly committed to modernizing their facilities and implementing cutting-edge technologies, highlighting the dynamic nature currently characterizing this essential sector for national construction.
