International Collaboration: WISeKey, SEALSQ, the OISTE Foundation, and the UN Alliance of Civilizations Present HUMAN-AI-T

An innovative collaboration has emerged between WISeKey International Holding Ltd, its subsidiary SEALSQ Corp, the OISTE Foundation, and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), with the launch of HUMAN-AI-T, an initiative aimed at placing humanity at the center of artificial intelligence development. This action is part of the growing concern about the impact of AI on society and the need to establish ethical frameworks to regulate its application.

Last year, the Onuart Foundation, along with UNAOC and the Government of Spain, organized an event at the UN headquarters in Geneva that laid the foundation for this initiative. At the I Global Dialogue on AI, held in October 2022, world leaders and experts discussed how artificial intelligence should be integrated with human rights and ethics. The event culminated in a manifesto that emphasized the importance of a human rights framework adapted to this new technological era.

HUMAN-AI-T aims to create a universal artificial intelligence platform that incorporates collective wisdom, ethical principles, and cultural diversity of human civilization. The initiative seeks not only to document and preserve universal values, but also to ensure that emerging AI systems operate within an ethical framework that protects human dignity.

The proposal is inspired by the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, functioning as a secure repository of humanity’s ethical legacy, where content will be protected by advanced cryptographic technologies, ensuring its integrity and trustworthiness for future generations.

UNAOC plays a crucial role in HUMAN-AI-T, promoting a culture of intercultural dialogue and seeking to include the diverse voices of humanity in the design and operation of artificial intelligence. This initiative responds to the revolution we are experiencing, as the possibility of creating general artificial intelligence systems approaches. This raises questions about the control that humanity will have over these technologies, as well as the ethical use that will be given to them.

Carlos Moreira, CEO of WISeKey, warns about the potential risks facing society if these technologies are not properly managed. He proposes that the mission of HUMAN-AI-T is not only to make machines smarter, but to ensure that these machines respect the principles that make us human.

With this approach, HUMAN-AI-T not only aims to align with the historic resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in favor of safe and beneficial AI systems, but also seeks to reinforce the importance of ethics in technological development to ensure a future shared by all. Through this global collaboration, the initiative promises to redefine the way artificial intelligence is understood, transforming it from a source of concern into a vehicle for ethical and social progress.
