Microsoft has announced today the release of a new test version of Windows 11 aimed at users who are part of the Windows Insider program. The update, known as Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.5240 (KB5055645), is available to Insiders in the Beta channel and is part of the 23H2 version of the operating system.
Users also have the option to upgrade to the 24H2 version of Windows 11, which is still in development. This update is optional and represents a change that the Microsoft team is actively working on. The improvements and fixes being implemented for those in the Beta channel are divided into two categories: gradual changes for users who have opted to receive updates more quickly and improvements designed for all Beta channel members.
Among the improvements included in this version are several fixes aimed at optimizing the overall system experience. For example, an issue in the file explorer that caused the “Organize” and “New Folder” options to not be visible in the save dialog when using dark mode has been resolved. An issue in the storage section, related to the incorrect display of total size, has also been addressed, as well as issues that could cause the system to freeze when using voice access.
Microsoft has reminded Insiders in the Beta channel that they will receive updates based on the 23H2 version through an enablement package and that many new features are implemented through controlled deployment technology, starting with a select group of users and gradually expanding. Those who want to access the latest features as soon as possible should enable the option to receive the latest updates.
It is important to note that some of the features being tested may not be released to the general public, as Microsoft is in a continuous process of evaluation and feedback collection. Additionally, not all features in development will be fully localized in all languages from the beginning, so it is advisable for users to report any localization-related issues through the Feedback Hub.
This recent release underscores Microsoft’s continued commitment to user feedback and the constant evolution of Windows 11.
