HIMACS brings to life a sensational and vibrant kitchen.

The use of color can help us create striking designs when decorating any space in our home. Take for example this eye-catching kitchen, renovated by CATO creative, where vibrant colors are used to differentiate between various zones and functions.

This kitchen is located within an apartment in the city of London, and its renovation has filled it with vitality and energy. To achieve this transformation, the trend of open spaces was embraced, merging the kitchen with the dining area to create a more fluid environment.

In the kitchen specifically, two characteristic colors from the Solid Surface HIMACS contribute to the dramatic effect: Orange adorns the kitchen island and Banana forms a set of functional wall cabinets with a high-performance solid surface that offers pristine elegance and beauty, thanks to the material’s ease of cleaning. These colors are perfectly paired with the paint of the lower and upper cabinets.

An old property is renewed with light and color

The property is a Victorian-style terraced house spread over three floors, with extensions on the ground floor, first floor, and attic. The ground floor houses the kitchen/dining area, a family hangout space, and a work zone. The kitchen extension, bright and welcoming, is flooded with light thanks to Crittall-style glazing that showcases the garden and skylights that reveal the sky and city buildings. A background of white-painted walls, clean lines, sharp angles, and subtle finishes creates a blank canvas for the intense color plates to take center stage.

To add drama to the HIMACS surfaces in Banana and Orange, the colors Mischief from Little Greene, and Tropical Palm from Sanderson, were used to hand-paint other built-in wooden cabinets that serve as a pantry, cocktail area, and refrigerator. The four distinct shades in the kitchen each have specific functions, such as food preparation or storage, and were carefully chosen to create a harmonious contrast.

Each color has a subtly different interaction with the light that changes throughout the day and seasons, creating fascinating effects. Without a doubt, this design has everything to lift spirits during the English winter and at the same time celebrate the summer sun.

The eclectic mix of tones and shades continues into the living room, with a reclaimed wood dining table adding a rustic touch to this totally contemporary kitchen. Additionally, the herringbone flooring adds elegance and geometry to this colorful home.

The ideal partner for both aesthetics and functionality

“HIMACS was chosen for its wide range of colors and finishes, which allow for creative design possibilities that complement the entire decoration style. Its solidity and resistance make it withstand intense daily use, becoming a reliable and attractive option. HIMACS creates key elements of the kitchen space,” says Mark Barratt, the project’s designer.

HIMACS fits perfectly into any kitchen style thanks to its extraordinary versatility, lasting quality, and easy installation. Suitable for nearly any application and available in a wide range of colors – from solid to textured with particles and effects of marbled stone, going from neutrals to intense, and from classics to the latest trends – this innovative surface is designed to satisfy any creative idea and go as far as needed.

Ideal for areas where hygiene and easy care are fundamental, its smooth, homogeneous, and non-porous composition offers multiple advantages, both aesthetic and functional.

Other elements of the kitchen include a white tile backsplash from Mutina, reminiscent of the subway style, Siemens appliances, and a Quooker fusion tap.
