From Architect to BIM Manager: Essential Training for Career Transition

The Factory School has launched an innovative master’s program that combines BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology with artificial intelligence, aimed at architecture professionals seeking to adapt to the digital transformation of the industry. This master’s program emerges as a key solution in a context where more than 70% of construction companies in Europe consider adopting BIM methodology a strategic priority.

The position of BIM Manager is on the rise, generating valuable opportunities in architectural firms, engineering companies, and major developers. In this regard, The Factory School has established itself as a leader in online training for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) sector, having trained over 3,500 students in 15 countries. The program focuses on optimizing workflows, automating processes, and making data-driven decisions.

Miguel Picado, head of the BIM area at The Factory School, emphasizes that many of the students come from traditional architecture backgrounds and are looking for new professional development opportunities. “The master’s program provides them with the necessary skills to become BIM Managers, whether in large projects or in firms beginning their digitalization,” Picado explains.

Students also have the opportunity to obtain an official European university degree from the Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, as well as certifications from recognized entities such as Autodesk, buildingSMART, and Bentley. The 100% online format of the master’s program makes it easy to balance studies with work life, thus promoting continuous education.

Feedback from participants highlights the effectiveness of the program. Omar Galindo, an architect and student of the master’s program, states that his experience has been enriching, emphasizing the quality of the content and the applicability of the tools learned.

The BIM Manager with AI Master’s program from The Factory School is presented as an ideal option for architects looking to lead the digitalization of the industry and take advantage of new opportunities in the job market.
