Karbon-X and Hockey Canada: Collaboration for a Sustainable Future in Sports

The Canadian company Karbon-X Corp. has established a significant partnership with Hockey Canada, becoming its Official Sustainability Partner. This collaboration aims to create a meaningful impact on the sustainability of the sport by integrating measurable programs in both national tournaments and community-level activities.

The primary goal of this partnership is to empower players, fans, and Canadian communities to engage in environmental initiatives that can make a tangible difference. To achieve this, some event tickets will include a contribution directed towards verified climate projects in the country, also providing participants with the opportunity to make donations through community registration programs, thereby reinforcing the collective commitment to a more sustainable future.

Matt Kauffman, Executive Vice President of Sports and Entertainment at Karbon-X, emphasized that hockey transcends the sports realm in Canada, representing a profound expression of community and commitment. With this union, both organizations seek to demonstrate that it is possible to combine national pride with a clear and effective environmental purpose.

For his part, Dean McIntosh from Hockey Canada highlighted Karbon-X’s crucial role in promoting more sustainable events and raising awareness about the importance of fostering sustainability in sports. This announcement comes after Hockey Canada recently received a gold certification from the Council of Responsible Sport, recognizing the IIHF 2025 World Junior Championship as the first hockey event in North America to achieve this distinction, showcasing the sport’s leadership on environmental issues.

While the financial details of this partnership have not yet been disclosed, this collaboration is expected to strengthen environmental commitment in the country. Additionally, it solidifies Karbon-X’s reputation as a reliable partner in sustainability, dedicated to environmental innovation and active fan engagement across various sectors.
