The first step is to disconnect the extractor hood from the power supply, prioritizing safety. Then, remove the filter, which is usually made of metal or charcoal. If the filter is made of metal, it can be washed in the dishwasher or in a container with hot water and degreasing soap. For charcoal filters, it is recommended to replace them, as they cannot be effectively cleaned.
To clean the exterior part of the hood, a mixture of hot water and white vinegar can be used, which acts as a natural degreaser. By soaking a microfiber cloth in this solution, you can gently rub the surface, paying special attention to areas where more grease has accumulated. Once the surface and filters are clean and dry, proceed to reassemble the filter and reconnect the hood to the power supply. It is advisable to carry out this cleaning process every one or two months, depending on the use and the amount of grease generated in the kitchen.
