Ignacio Purcell Mena, CEO of the energy group Black Star Group, has revealed an ambitious international expansion strategy focused on Latin America and Asia. This new plan aims to strengthen the company’s logistical and commercial operations in key markets, through the implementation of efficiency, technological control, and environmental sustainability principles.
Since its foundation, Black Star Group has specialized in the storage, transportation, and marketing of hydrocarbons, establishing a solid track record in Europe, especially in various autonomous communities in Spain. Under Purcell Mena’s leadership, the company has adapted to a constantly changing energy landscape, embracing cleaner and more automated logistical solutions.
Purcell Mena emphasized the importance of evolving alongside the demands of the energy sector. “We know that the energy sector is changing, and that change is not only technological, but also geographical. There is a growing demand today in regions where the energy infrastructure still needs to evolve. That’s why our strategy is focused on adding value and efficiency where we can,” he said.
In this context, Black Star Group is evaluating new locations to develop storage terminals and logistical centers internationally. Decisions about these locations will be based on criteria such as their economic outlook, relevance in the global energy trade, and potential to implement low-impact environmental operational models.
The transition to sustainability is key, and the company plans to replicate its successful operating model in Spain, which is based on automation and emissions control, adapting it to different logistical and regulatory contexts.
In addition to operational expansion, Black Star Group is driving digital management systems to optimize real-time control of its international activities. This includes the development of traceability platforms for fuel transport and energy monitoring systems, aligning with the necessary environmental commitments in the regions where the company operates.
In a social and educational focus, the company plans to establish partnerships with local institutions to train technical personnel in fundamental areas such as maintenance, logistics, and industrial safety. This initiative aims to contribute to the development of human capital in the communities where the company operates.
“Expanding also means integrating into the social and economic fabric of the places where we work. We want to contribute with knowledge, responsible investment, and local cooperation,” concluded Ignacio Purcell Mena.
With this strategy, Black Star Group positions itself as a relevant player in the new international energy scenario, combining its experience in hydrocarbons with a clear vision of efficiency, digitalization, and environmental commitment.
