In Spain, companies that market packaged products must adhere to strict deadlines for declaring and managing these packages. ENVALORA, the authorized system for the management of industrial and commercial packaging, has reminded producers that they have until February 28th to make their declaration to the Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP). Additionally, on April 2nd, they must submit the Annual Packaging Declaration (DAE) for the year 2025 to the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITERD).
To simplify this process, ENVALORA has made available the Envanet platform for affiliated companies, which eases the management of procedures and provides a report with the necessary information for submission to MITERD. The organization also offers a power of attorney service that allows ENVALORA to act on behalf of companies to ensure the correct presentation of declarations to the competent authorities.
Joan Ros, the general director of ENVALORA, highlighted the importance of these declarations, emphasizing that they are a legal obligation for all companies that introduce industrial and commercial packaging into the market. According to Ros, his team is committed to providing companies with the advanced tools and technical support necessary to meet these requirements.
This obligation impacts various sectors, including automotive, chemical, construction, food, and plastics. The DAE requires detailed information about the packaging introduced into the market, covering aspects such as quantities, materials, and the percentage of recycled material, if applicable.
Currently, ENVALORA has more than 2,900 affiliated companies and is supported by 24 sectorial associations. The entity promotes a collaborative model that not only facilitates compliance with regulations but also contributes to the development of a circular economy in packaging management.
