Announcement of the Windows 11 Insider Build 27971 Preview in the Canary Channel.

Microsoft has announced the release of the new Insider Preview Build 27971 of Windows 11, aimed at the Canary channel. This update seeks to enhance the user experience by implementing new features and bug fixes.

One of the most notable changes is the expansion of the Notification Center, which will now also be visible on secondary monitors. This will allow users to access their calendar and enable a larger clock showing seconds over the calendar. The Notification Center can be opened on any screen with a simple click on the date and time displayed in the taskbar.

It is important to highlight that this feature will be implemented gradually, meaning not all Insiders will have immediate access, as Microsoft plans to gather feedback before proceeding with a general release.

Regarding the fixes, this release addresses several issues, such as File Explorer failing to transfer files to network drives, the absence of media controls on the lock screen, and problems with the pen and handwriting functionality in certain apps. It has also resolved errors affecting the playback of protected content and challenges with starting virtual machines on ARM64 devices.

However, some known issues still persist. Reports indicate that settings may unexpectedly close when accessing disk information, and some users experience unexpected scrolling in the new Start menu. Microsoft is currently investigating issues related to hibernation and shutdown following the latest update.

It’s important for users in the Canary channel to understand that these versions represent changes in an early phase of the development cycle and may not align with a specific release date. Features may be modified or even removed based on the feedback received.

For those wishing to leave the Canary channel, a clean installation of Windows 11 is required, as switching to a channel that receives lower build numbers is not possible without this installation. It is normal for a watermark to appear in the bottom right corner of the desktop in these pre-release versions.

Lastly, Microsoft has launched a platform called Flight Hub, where users can check detailed information about the builds available in each Insider channel.
