Today, Microsoft announced the release of the new preview version of Windows 11 Insider Build 26200.5651, aimed at the developer channel. This update includes a series of improvements and features designed to optimize the user experience.
One of the main innovations is the introduction of a setup assistant powered by artificial intelligence. This new assistant will allow users to describe their problems, such as “how to control my PC by voice,” and will provide specific steps to resolve them. This tool is initially available for PCs with Snapdragon processors and is expected to roll out soon for devices with AMD and Intel processors.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), an option has been added to export “Recall” snapshots. This feature will allow users to securely share data with third-party applications and websites. The snapshots will be encrypted and will require authentication through Windows Hello for export.
Another significant change is the return of a larger clock in the notification center, a feature many Windows 10 users have requested. To enable it, users will need to access the “Date and Time” settings.
Additionally, the update includes other enhancements and fixes. This includes the ability to restart “Recall” and its database, a new maximum storage limit for snapshots of 90 days, and the addition of tips to guide users in using the “Recall” feature.
However, it’s not all good news. Some users have reported issues with the new Start menu and connectivity problems with Xbox controllers via Bluetooth, which could lead to system crashes. Microsoft has confirmed that it is working to resolve these issues in future updates.
Finally, Insiders in the developer channel are reminded that they can opt to receive updates on new features as they are rolled out.
