Announcement of the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5751 in the Dev Channel.

Microsoft recently introduced the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5751 (KB5064071) for users in the Dev Channel. This update, which is being rolled out gradually to those who activated the latest updates from the Settings > Windows Update menu, includes several enhancements and new features.

One of the highlights of the update is the introduction of new selection modes in Click to Do. This feature allows users to select objects more efficiently. With the addition of free selection mode, users can now freely trace around items to select them using a pen or finger, which is especially beneficial for touchscreen devices. Additionally, a rectangular selection mode has been added, along with the ability to select multiple items by holding down the Ctrl key, thus improving the user experience.

On another note, IT administrators have received additional tools, as they can now remove pre-installed apps from the Microsoft Store on business devices through group policies. In an effort to enhance usability, the “Open with” section of the context menu in File Explorer has been updated, removing background accent icons to make them easier to see.

Users will also notice new animations when hovering over application groups in the taskbar, along with improvements to the reliability of the lock screen. The update addresses several issues, such as the duplication of date and time tooltips with additional clocks, as well as issues in the Start menu and File Explorer.

The Snipping Tool has been improved with a feature that allows for screen recording in window mode, enabling users to accurately capture activity within specific applications.

Microsoft has warned that some users may experience rollbacks when attempting to install this update due to a bug in Windows Update, and they are working on a solution. Reports regarding Visual Studio are also under investigation, as it may show issues on Arm64 PCs following this update.

This new version reflects Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative functionalities and enhancing the user experience with Windows 11 while gathering feedback from Insiders to continue evolving the operating system.
