Announcement of version 22635.4225 of Windows 11 Insider Preview (beta channel)

Today, the preview version for Windows 11 insiders has been released, called Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4225 (KB5043186), targeted at the Beta channel. Changes and updates in the Beta channel versions are documented in two categories: new features, improvements, and fixes that are gradually rolled out for insiders who enable the option to receive the latest updates available through Settings > Windows Update, and features that are implemented for everyone in the Beta channel.

Among the gradually implemented improvements, the ability to share content with Android devices from the context menu of File Explorer and the desktop stands out. To use this feature, it is necessary to have the phone link installed and configured on the PC.

Among the gradually implemented fixes, an issue that was causing some insiders to experience a malfunction in the emoji panel in previous flights has been resolved.

As for the improvements for all users in the Beta channel, the option to configure the Copilot key has been added, which will allow launching an application packaged in MSIX and signed to meet security requirements. This setting is available in Settings > Personalization > Text input.

General fixes include an issue that was causing errors when closing Notepad in previous flights. In addition, solutions have been implemented for issues with Windows Installer and group policy and preferences management. An issue that was causing Task Manager to stop responding when switching from a high contrast theme to a normal theme has also been fixed.

Among the known issues, a new problem has been identified in the Start menu: clicking or tapping a letter in the list of all apps may cause it to stop working. To fix this issue, it is recommended to restart the system or explorer.exe.

Insiders in the Beta channel are reminded that they will receive updates based on Windows 11, version 23H2, and that many of these features are implemented using Control Feature Rollout technology. Those who wish to receive updates gradually can enable the corresponding option in the settings. However, it is noted that some features and experiences may not be launched and may change or be removed over time. It is also communicated that some features may not be fully localized and localization will be adjusted based on user feedback.

The participation and collaboration of insiders in this ongoing development and testing process is appreciated.
