Microsoft has carried out a new release for Windows 11 Insider users, particularly in the Beta channel. This is version 22635.4945 (KB5052084), intended for those users who have chosen not to opt for updates based on the 24H2 version of the operating system. This update incorporates a series of improvements and fixes designed to optimize the experience on Insider’s devices.
One of the main novelties of this update is the adjustment in the Desktop Spotlight icon, which now sports a new color and has been moved to a different position in the bottom right corner of the desktop. Additionally, significant improvements have been made to the performance of the File Explorer, especially when it comes to extracting compressed files, as well as in the reliability of this tool.
The new version also addresses various technical issues. An error that could cause the Windows Explorer to unexpectedly close has been fixed, and an issue that caused the opening of two touch keyboards when trying to log in has been resolved. Likewise, a problem on the lock screen that prevented resetting the password under certain circumstances has been fixed.
However, the release is not without its own set of issues. Developers are working on resolving an issue that causes slowness when closing the File Explorer for some users, as well as an issue related to displaying information cards on unmanaged devices.
Microsoft has reminded Beta channel Insiders that updates are based on the 23H2 version of Windows 11 through an enabling package. They have also noted that not all features being tested will necessarily be included in future versions, as some may be removed or replaced during the development process. For those who wish to receive the latest updates more quickly, it is recommended to enable the option to receive early updates in the Windows Update settings.
