Today, Microsoft has released a new preview version of Windows 11, corresponding to Build 26200.5562 (KB5055642), focused on Dev channel users. This update incorporates various improvements and new features, which are organized into two categories: new features and updates that will be gradually implemented for insiders who have opted to receive the latest innovations.
Among the most relevant new features is the introduction of enhanced Copilot+ experiences on PC. One of the included functionalities is the “Click to Do” option, which allows users to improve their reading fluency with the help of “Practice in Reading Coach.” This option enables users to select text on screen and receive feedback on pronunciation and fluency, aimed at helping readers of all ages improve their reading and writing skills through effective techniques. On the other hand, the “Read with Immersive Reader” option provides a distraction-free reading experience, especially designed for individuals with dyslexia or similar difficulties.
Another significant improvement that comes with this update is the ability for insiders in the European Economic Area to locate photos stored in the cloud using the Windows search bar. With simple descriptions like “European castles” or “summer picnics,” this feature will greatly simplify the search for images, whether local or in the cloud.
Additionally, voice access has received important updates in this version. The ability to add personalized words to the dictionary has been added, improving accuracy during dictation. Also, a new experience within the product has been introduced to facilitate the discovery of new features.
Among other improvements in the process of implementation, the option to deactivate cloud content search, optimizations in the file explorer, and adjustments to the widget settings are included. Microsoft has also worked on resolving various issues affecting the performance and functionality of certain applications, such as the start menu and window management.
However, users should be aware of certain limitations and known issues, such as failures in the Windows recovery environment and difficulties in installing some applications.
These new features highlight Microsoft’s commitment to the constant evolution of Windows 11, promising experiences that will enhance the usability of the operating system. The company encourages users to share their feedback through the Feedback Hub, in order to continue refining these tools and features in future updates.
