Antequera strengthens its commitment to public health with new defibrillator totems.

Antequera has taken a significant step in improving the public health of its residents with the inauguration of two new Almas Industries totems in the Industrial Park, which are equipped with automatic defibrillators. With this recent installation, the town now has a total of six devices designed to provide immediate assistance in case of cardiac emergencies, adding the new ones to the four already in place.

This project has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Antequera City Council, which has funded most of the initiative, and the Andalusian Cardiology Foundation (FAC), which has contributed a third of the funds. José Antonio Barón Jiménez, President of the Industrial Park Community of Owners in Antequera, has been one of the main drivers of this action.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the mayor of Antequera, Manuel Jesús Barón, the president of FAC, Lola Mesa, as well as representatives from Almas Industries, including CEO Nuño Azcona, and the regional director of Andalusia, Fran Muñoz. During his speech, Mayor Barón emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting the municipality’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens and the improvement of public services.

The installation of these totems aims to strengthen the response capacity to emergency situations, located in high-traffic areas to ensure quick access when needed. Barón stressed that this advancement makes Antequera a reference in terms of cardiac safety.

José Antonio Barón Jiménez also highlighted the relevance of the new totems, stating that they represent a significant improvement for both citizens and those who work in the industrial area. He emphasized that public-private collaboration is an example of how health infrastructure can be improved in the community.

Nuño Azcona, CEO of Almas Industries, emphasized that these totems represent Antequera’s commitment to prevention and emergency response, expressing pride in being part of this initiative. Likewise, Lola Mesa, president of FAC, highlighted the crucial role that defibrillators play in protecting cardiovascular health, emphasizing that this collaboration brings the devices closer to the public, where they can make a difference in emergency situations.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at providing communities with essential tools for immediate care in cardiac emergencies, seeking to reduce response times and increase survival chances in critical situations.
