Asco Power Technologies Expands Its Line of Interconnection Devices for Microgrids

ASCO Power Technologies has launched two new versions of its innovative SourcePacT system, expanding its applicability to cover a broader range of voltages. This initiative aims to simplify grid isolation in projects that operate with inverter-based power.

The SourcePacT™ system was initially introduced with a rated capacity of 600 amps at 277 volts. With the new versions, users can now access 277-volt and 800-amp configurations, in addition to two variants of 480 volts, which include 600 and 800 amp configurations.

This device is characterized as the only integrated grid isolation system specifically designed for emergency applications utilizing inverter power, and it holds UL certification. Its features include control and disconnection, allowing sources to continue supplying critical loads during power interruptions.

The SourcePacT is also capable of effectively integrating into critical infrastructures, automatically responding to service outages. In these cases, the system disconnects from the grid and sends a signal to the inverter to activate grid-forming mode; when power is restored, it automatically reconnects and continues operating in following mode.

This advancement has transformed the industry by eliminating the need for custom and complex grid isolation solutions for each installation. With the new models, users have the opportunity to scale their projects with greater flexibility, thus optimizing the use of Distributed Energy Resources (DER).

The three new models in ASCO’s SourcePacT range are now available in the market, and interested parties are encouraged to contact a local company representative for more information.
