Asefave honors the Best Lightweight Facades, Windows, and Solar Protection at the XV Veteco Awards.

Architecture and innovation took center stage during the fifteenth edition of the Veteco Awards, where the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Lightweight Façades and Windows (ASEFAVE) celebrated its annual awards ceremony at Ifema, Madrid. On this occasion, the Pilarín Bayés Library in Barcelona, the Municipal Gymnasium of Corral de Calatrava in Ciudad Real, and the Financial Center BCC-Grupo Cajamar in Almería were recognized as the most outstanding projects in their respective categories.

The Pilarín Bayés Library was awarded the prize for the best lightweight façade. This recognition was given due to its innovative design and perfect integration in the surrounding environment. The work, carried out by BCQ Arquitectura Barcelona, SLP, in collaboration with the industrial Grupo Gámiz-Egoin Wood Group and Jansen Iberia, has been acclaimed for its aesthetics and technical quality. The judges did not overlook the innovation behind the proposed architectural solutions, awarding honorable mentions to projects such as the Arrupe Campus and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium Reform.

The award for the best window went to the Municipal Gymnasium of Corral de Calatrava, a creation by architect Luis Carlos Peña Juan along with the manufacturer Alugom. This recognition was shared with a special mention to the project “SFJ6. 102 social housing units in Madrid,” led by architect Marina del Mármol.

In the category of best solar protection, the Financial Center BCC-Grupo Cajamar stood out for its design and functionality, the work of Ayala, S.L.P. and INASUS. This project stood out not only for its architecture, but also for its ability to offer thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

ASEFAVE also took the opportunity to award young architects, highlighting the best final projects such as “Art Corner” in Madrid, “Interwoven Realities” in Seville, and “Echoes of the Landscape” in Sierra Nevada. These awards fulfill the organization’s goal of promoting emerging talent in architecture and design.

Finally, the event paid tribute to Xavier Bohigas, recognizing his long career and contributions to the construction and architecture sector. The ceremony concluded another edition of Veteco, reaffirming its position as a vital forum for the exchange of ideas on regulations, labor, and fiscal issues, essential for the future of the industry.

Since its foundation in 1977, ASEFAVE continues to represent the leading figures in the window and solar protection system sector in Spain, led by Miguel Robles, who continues to promote the sustainable development of the sector with his management team.
