Atos, the world-renowned digital transformation company, has been selected by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) of the United Kingdom to carry out a significant upgrade in their information technology (IT) services. This five-year agreement, valued at 150 million pounds, will benefit approximately 34,000 users nationwide, with the goal of improving both customer service and operational efficiency through the implementation of advanced technologies.
Atos’ proposal not only focuses on modernizing the service, but also prioritizes sustainability. The company has committed to adopting an eco-friendly approach, which involves repairing, refurbishing, and reusing hardware. In addition, Atos plans to minimize packaging usage and associated shipping logistics, as well as donate devices that are no longer in use to charitable organizations and social enterprises, contributing to a more responsible model.
Michael Herron, Atos’ director in the UK and Ireland, expressed excitement about this collaboration with DEFRA. He emphasized that this transformation will allow the department’s team to focus on their core work, benefiting from high-quality technological support. “This enables their team to concentrate on the important work they do,” Herron stated.
Among its solutions, Atos also offers a suite of comprehensive employee experiences, including digital tools for collaboration and smart customer service. Their “sustainable digital workplace suite” encompasses over 20 services that promote social responsibility and accessibility, reaffirming their commitment to a more inclusive and responsible work environment.
Atos’ high level of commitment to excellence in its sector has not gone unnoticed, as it has been recognized on multiple occasions. Recently, it was positioned as a leader in Gartner’s 2024 Magic Quadrant for Outsourced Digital Workplace Services, a distinction it has maintained for eight consecutive years, highlighting its role as a key player in technological innovation and social responsibility in the digital realm.
