Ayesa, a leading technology and engineering services company, has strengthened its collaboration with the pharmaceutical sector in the Basque Country by renewing its contract with the Official Council of Pharmacists in the region. This alliance will extend until 2028 and aims to continue improving the Electronic Prescription service, known as ‘e-Rezeta’, which connects more than 800 pharmacies with the Basque health system.
The contract signing took place at Ayesa’s offices, with the presence of prominent authorities, including Jon Iñaki Betolaza, Director of Pharmacy for the Basque Government. Xabier Eroa, Ayesa’s Health Sector Director, along with Pepe Olabarri, North Zone Regional Director, represented Ayesa at the signing. Representing the Pharmacists’ Council of the Basque Country were the presidents of the Official Colleges of Pharmacists: Miguel Ángel Gastelurrutia, Milagros López de Ocáriz, and Juan Uriarte.
The agreement is structured around three key components: the User Support Center, the Technical Office, and the Infrastructure Maintenance Services. The User Support Center provides daily support, resolving queries and managing incidents to ensure the system operates correctly. The Technical Office is responsible for maintaining the crucial communication node between pharmacies and the healthcare system. Meanwhile, the Infrastructure Maintenance Services ensure the system’s constant security and availability through comprehensive maintenance.
This new agreement also emphasizes continuous system improvement. Ayesa will commit to carrying out updates and specific projects that modernize the platform as the technological environment evolves. With these enhancements, the Electronic Prescription system will remain at the forefront of technology, meeting the highest security standards.
The contract renewal is crucial to ensure that pharmacies in the Basque Country have an effective and accessible system for managing electronic prescriptions, which is of significant value in patient care and strengthens the relationship between the healthcare system and pharmacies.
