Bigo Live, the renowned live streaming platform, has announced the celebration of its BIGO Awards Gala, which in its sixth edition will take place on January 24, 2025 at the prestigious Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. This event will bring together over 1,000 guests from around the world and will be held under the theme “LIVE YOUR OASIS”, highlighting creativity, community, and sustainability in an innovative and safe digital environment.
The gala has become a key event to celebrate and recognize the most outstanding content creators on the platform. Award categories will include titles such as “Most Inspiring Livestream” and “Global Community Creator”. Winners will not only receive trophies and in-app rewards, but will also be recognized in iconic spaces, increasing their visibility. Additionally, this year the audience will be invited to participate in real time voting, promoting a sense of inclusion and community.
Bigo Live has been actively working to provide its content creators with new tools and resources to create impactful content. This is complemented by the implementation of enhanced policies on user-generated content, including rigorous verification of private broadcasts and content guidelines tailored to different cultural realities, all aimed at maintaining a safe and enriching digital environment.
A new aspect of this year’s gala is its commitment to sustainability, aiming to be a carbon-neutral event. This initiative involves measuring and offsetting all emissions that may arise during the gala, moving towards greater environmental responsibility in the digital realm.
The event will be hosted by renowned Singaporean actress Vernetta López alongside comedian Rishi Budhrani. The evening will feature performances by 35 artists from various musical genres such as pop, opera, hip hop, and electronic music, as well as exciting acrobatics that promise to surprise attendees.
Since its launch in 2016, Bigo Live has made significant progress, establishing itself as one of the most popular live streaming platforms globally, ranking seventh in its sector. The event will be livestreamed through the Music Livehouse channel in the app, providing worldwide audiences with the opportunity to enjoy real-time interactions, chats, and giveaways.
The gala’s red carpet will start at 3 p.m. (GMT+8) and the main event will kick off at 7 p.m. (GMT+8), promising to be a vibrant celebration of the power of community in the world of live streaming.
