Bogotá shines at the Global Meeting Tourism Encounter

Bogotá is positioning itself as a prominent competitor in the meetings tourism sector by participating in IBTM World, one of the most significant events in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, taking place from November 18 to 20 in Barcelona, Spain. Through its Convention Bureau, Invest in Bogotá aims to take advantage of this opportunity to consolidate its regional leadership and attract large-scale international events.

Bogotá’s presence at IBTM World, where it will have a space at booth M7 “Stand 10”, marks an important milestone in its strategy to position itself as the preferred destination in Latin America for congresses and business conventions. Kamila Caselles, an official from the Bureau, emphasizes that one of the main objectives of this participation will be to establish strategic alliances with key stakeholders in the sector and showcase the destination’s diverse offerings, highlighting the characteristics of an innovative, connected, and sustainable city.

Luisa Fernanda Vásquez, the Bureau’s manager, highlights the importance of demonstrating how Bogotá can turn ideas into tangible projects, meetings into impact, and experiences into legacy. During the fair, the city will showcase its business ecosystem and success stories that have elevated it among the most sought-after destinations for meetings tourism in the region.

IBTM World is a large-scale event that brings together more than 15,000 participants from around 100 countries, creating valuable opportunities for networking, learning, and negotiations that foster the growth of new experiences and attract investments to competitive destinations.

With this participation, Invest in Bogotá reaffirms its commitment to internationalize the city and continue attracting renowned events that drive economic development and the global projection of Bogotá. The public-private partnership behind Invest in Bogotá aims not only to attract world-class meetings but also to build an ecosystem that promotes entrepreneurship and improves the quality of life in the region.
