Clean Air Metals Inc. has announced the launch of an ambitious drilling program at the Thunder Bay North project, starting this week, aiming to expand its mineral resources. The company has identified geophysical anomalies that could indicate the presence of high mineral content zones, similar to those of the already known Escape deposit.
The program, which begins in the summer of 2025, will include drilling to a depth of 900 meters at one of these newly identified anomalies. The so-called “ballroom” areas, which have shown to have high mineral potential, are the main focus of this exploration. Depending on the initial results, the scope of the program could be expanded.
The Escape deposit accounts for about 40% of the metal content of the 14 million tons of indicated resources in the project, containing 2.4 million equivalent ounces of platinum. The company is particularly interested in exploring a 2.5 km long magnetic anomaly that has not yet been investigated, adjacent to an already known high-value mineral zone.
An expert in magnetotelluric studies reviewed historical data in the spring of 2025, identifying three new electromagnetic anomalies aligned with high-grade features. One of the targets, BH 25-01, is located just 300 meters from the known boundary of the deposit.
Previous drilling has already revealed notable intersections, including 98.9 meters with 1.89 g/t palladium, 1.40 g/t platinum, 0.69% copper, and 0.35% nickel. These findings suggest that exploration could lead to a significant expansion of the high-grade mineralizations in the Escape deposit.
Lionnel Djon, Vice President of Exploration, expressed optimism about the new targets, noting that the campaign could significantly increase the mineralization of the area. In addition, Clean Air Metals is in the process of completing a Preliminary Economic Assessment of the project, hoping that the recent findings will strengthen its production model.
The company will hold its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on July 29, 2025, virtually, where project updates will be detailed. Clean Air Metals emphasizes its commitment to local Indigenous communities, seeking to work hand in hand with them and respect their cultural heritage as they advance the development of the Thunder Bay North project, a unique platinum resource outside South Africa in a mining-friendly environment.
